How Klitschko’s Nine-year Reign As World Heavyweight Champion Ends

TYSON FURY’…that is the name on the lips of boxing fans the world over…
 Why you ask…Well it is because the Manchester native defeated world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko who was yet to lose a bout in nine years.Klitschko and Tyson Fury fought on Sunday, November 30 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Klitschko had not been beaten since 2004 and his second reign as champion included 19 successful defenses. Fury won the fight 115-112, 115-112, 116-111 based on scores on the judges’ scorecards and is now the WBA, IBF and WBO champion.
The 27 year old said after the fight: “You’re a great champion Wlad, thanks very much for having me. It was all fun and games in the build-up, I just wanted to be confident, young and brash.”

After the match he sang a rendition of Aerosmith’s love ballad “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”.
Fury has won all 25 of his fights, 18 of them by knockout and is unbeaten in his career. He could face competition from fellow Brit and former World Heavyweight champion David Haye and Britain’s Olympic champion Anthony Joshua, who is unbeaten in 14 professional fights.
